Driving test cancellations by the DVSA

Yet again, one of our pupils has had their test rescheduled for NOVEMBER instead of next week! This is now the 6th such cancellation and the 2nd to the same household, it’s beginning to feel personal!We have rearranged so many courses and lost so much in revenue and yet the DVSA still try to prevent late cancellations when it happens to them but they do it to us nevertheless.

There are very few driving tests available anywhere, very little accountability by the DVSA or DVLA and very little feedback or information from them as to why they cancel with no offer of explanation of the decision making process involved.Self employed instructors (which we all are), accept the ups and downs of self employment but usually, we are able to find creative solutions to problems, when this is removed, we shouldn’t be forced to accept it without some form of explanation and compensation.

The civil service are paid come what may – come on DVSA and DVLA, GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER, THINK OF THE THOUSANDS OR INSTRUCTORS AND PUPILS WHO HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY AFFECTED TIME AND AGAIN – COMPENSATION FOR YOUR INCOMEPETENCE AND APPARENT LACK OF CONCERN WOULD BE A GOOD START.
