We promised to keep you up to date with developments and it is now clear that, whilst the suspension of driving lessons isn’t law, it is advisory and the DVSA could investigate driving instructors who do continue and possibly remove them from the register. In addition, driving instructor insurance may be invalid if guidance is contravened. We have to remember, this is for everyone’s safety irrespective of whether suspension is advisory so Intensive Driving School will not be continuing with lessons during the period 5th November to 2nd December.
Further to that, If you intend taking private practice, the journey you do must be an authorised journey e.g. a trip to the supermarket but the route you take must not be deviated from just for the purposes of getting experience.
We have today started to receive DVSA emails cancelling tests. At the moment, we don’t know how retests will be handled but when we do, we will let you know.
We will obviously book the earliest tests available and work all courses around them.
Just to confirm then, we will not be taking lessons until the 2nd December or whatever date is subsequently approved.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us and we’ll do our best to answer them.
